Competitive Softball

Competitive softball has a higher level of competitiveness than recreational softball.  A lot of players considering to make the jump to competition ball should be made aware of the following:

  • Competitive ball is significantly more expensive than recreational. It can incur costs from higher level coaching, more practice time, and travel expenses.
  • There is no guarantee of playing time. The best players play.
  • There is an increased chance for high-level development. Players looking to play in college and beyond should seriously consider joining a competitive team
  • You will be required to try out and will be placed on a team according to ability & age.
  • Rules are generally more closely related to high school or college softball.

Indoor Winter Practices are at Ralston Middle School on Sundays January through March.

Outdoor Practice and batting cages are located at Crown, Wager & the Middle School fields.

Depending on age group, the girls play league play on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday nights.  They will play double headers once a week at fields that may include Dill, Westchester, Crown, etc.

Tournaments  are mostly local area including Omaha, Lincoln, and surrounding towns.  Most teams do one or two overnight trips. Numbers of tournaments usually run from 6-8 per season.

Prices include all league registration fees, umpire fees, tournament entry fees, NSA and USSSA registration fees, softballs, other indoor and outdoor equipment & facility access.
